Hi. Let me reintroduce myself.

I am Laura, and this series was inspired by many things about my own life and experiences. I was motivated to share not because I consider myself an expert, but because I felt that sharing is my service to others.

Today I want to talk about unpacking the boxes.

A Box of Records

I recently came across a box of vinyl records belonging to my dad. He didn't have a record player — but he had a box of records.

On opening the box and sorting through, I recognised that there was some timeless music in that collection.

Incidentally, a few years back, I came across a box set of three Harry Belafonte albums in a vintage record store in New Harmony, Indiana. I bought it — and, not having a record player either, I packed it away.

The chip never falls far from the tree.

What Does This Have to Do With Unpacking Boxes?

I'll get to it.

How much of our lives have we packed away in boxes? Waiting for the perfect timing. The perfect house. The perfect job. The perfect occasion.

While the things we enjoy are packed and on pause, time goes by. Seasons change. We forget some of the things that brought us the greatest joy. They sit in boxes while life goes on.

Unpack the Boxes Today

Start enjoying the things you have put away. The life you have put on pause.

No perfect moment needed. Just the will to reconnect — in this moment. To feel the joy of being present with what you already have.

The perfect moment is not coming. This moment is the one.

My Record Player Story

So — the box of records?

I bought a small three-in-one player. It plays vinyl, CDs, and cassettes. It looks like a toy, but the sound quality is good. (Pareiko is the brand, if you are curious.)

The box turned up some sweet surprises — old favourites I had almost forgotten. Music that carried memories. Music that made me stop and smile.

I am feeling the joy of being in the moment.

And I hope you will too.

What have you packed away that is waiting to be rediscovered? We would love to hear from you at [email protected].
