I've spent years trying to understand what makes people genuinely happy — not the fleeting kind, but the deep, rooted kind that holds steady even when life gets hard. The answer, again and again, comes back to one thing: gratitude.

Gratitude 101 grew out of a simple practice I started during a difficult season of my own life. I began writing one word each morning — a word that captured something I was thankful for — and exploring it fully. What started as a personal journal became a map. Twenty-six letters. Twenty-six doorways into a more present, more joyful life.

I wrote this book primarily to inspire any youngster, allowing them to reflect on the positives in their lives at the granular level, like learning the alphabet.  The book also targets the ‘young at heart’ who struggle with feelings that have haunted them throughout their youth. It is never too late to reconcile your thoughts and embrace the true potential of who you are meant to be.  It's also for anyone who has ever wanted to feel more grateful but didn't know where to start. You don't need a perfect life. You just need a place to begin.

There are always possibilities for new beginnings. Yesterday was the end of old chapters, and now there is the opportunity for immense gratitude.
